make is not a native utility on Windows. This makes it extremely difficult to build lessons and episodes with R-markdown on Windows.
We took a look at the make-novice lesson for additional support (https://swcarpentry.github.io/make-novice/) Nothing in the lesson example lesson either (https://carpentries.github.io/lesson-example/) On the curriculum development site, the information is "coming soon" (https://cdh.carpentries.org/technological-introductions.html#using-the-lesson-template)
