In Spectrum Discover, we have the need to display massive amounts of information at once to our users. We want this information to be conveyed in the most consumable way possible, and some of our concepts to meet this need have included heat maps.

With none to pull from in the current set of Carbon Charts, we've designed some of our own. We've taken a look at existing heat map designs, including IBM's v1 design language, Watson Analytics, and Cognos Analytics, and have designed the heat map in the same visual style as the existing set of carbon charts.

The proposed design shows a heat map for both the gray and white carbon theme. We've also included an accessible version of the design using the same style as the existing carbon charts.
