Complete the below when receiving a research request, and continue to add to this issue as you receive additional details and produce deliverables. Be sure to also add the appropriate project-level label to this issue (eg gtfs-rt, DLA).

Research Question

Single sentence description:

Detailed description:

  • See how well aggregate transit service and speeds by segments fit together. Let's compare peak vs off peak aggregate service hours and average speeds by CalEnviroScreen scores (3 groups).
  • Use different dates for aggregate transit service and speeds for now.
  • Does having shape_id for aggregate service hours make sense? Are we able to link it to a line geometry if we try?
    • Finding: first, need to add aggregate service hours. also, need a sense of which shape_id had more days go into the aggregation. that might help with selecting a certain day to download and get the line geometry.

Data sources

  • Cal-ITP data sources:

    • mart_ad_hoc.fct_scheduled_service_by_daypart for Dec 2022
    • speeds by route segments for 1/18/23
  • External data sources: CalEnviroScreen and LEHD data by census tract (in GCS)
