Empty rustfmt buffer stays open

I tend to work split-screen. When I have a syntax error on save, the *rustfmt* buffer pops up in one of my windows. When I fix the syntax error (such as an extra comma or missing semi-colon), the *rustfmt* buffer becomes empty and stays around, blocking the other buffer I was working with and taking a lot of screen real-estate until I kill it.

Is there a way for the buffer to automatically close when there are no errors left?
