Recent Update Corrupted the Smart Connect Application on Mac Not Working - v1.2.4

I'm unable to reconnect the Smart Connect to obsidian, I've uninstalled, reinstalled and disconnected/restarted systems still not working. It was fine before it updated.

Try deleting this file /Users/brian/Library/Application Support/smart-connect/user_data/settings.json

@1PercentNerd if you aren't using the Official Service (requires connection key) then you can turn off the security setting and it will stop trying to connect.

If you're trying to use Smart Connect to accelerate Obsidian Smart Connections embeddings, it should automatically use the Smart Connect app if it is available when Obsidian is turned on. 🌴

I have a connection key, its only been a month. It was working just fine before this new update. I keep seeing this -

I've restarted app, restarted obsidian, computer deleted the json and still it remains and unable to connect on my mac. not sure what it wrong with it, its not being blocked on my network either.

Did you already use the "Reset Settings" button?

If so, use the "Open Console Log" button and screenshot the errors and that should help us get this figured out 🌴

I'm having the same issue, fresh install from GitHub release 1.2.5
edit: obsidian plugin "smart connections" is on latest version. 2.1.88

The app starts just fine, I get to choose to connect to the service or "turn off the security setting". No other settings are visible and Obsidian fails to connect to SmartConnect.

I didn't yet sign up for a license (I don't use GPTs, I'm more of a Claude and local LLMs guy). Will sign up for a supporter license as soon as my finances allow. Love the idea of a mostly local setup.

I have

• reset settings
• restarted obsidian and smart connect app
• chose to "turn of security features"

okay i'm checking now, maybe its my firewall, av or something effectiving the application.
