API key is missing error message #939
Comments
See this same error. I can dismiss it and models seem to mostly work, but it's odd that it always shows up). Sometimes I get "Model not found" as well. |
That error is specific to the chat model configured in the Smart Chat view (gear icon in top-right corner of the chat). Which chat platform are you using when this notification appears erroneously? 🌴 |
I switched to a local model and that's working now (sort of, see my other open issue), but I'd been trying to set it to recognize my OpenAI API. |
In my case I wasn't using any chat platform per se. After seeing your comment (@brianpetro) I went ahead and clicked on the gear icon and added an API from ChatGPT. The Error is gone and I can also access my Obsidian notes from ChatGPT using SmartConnect-Notes. So, problem solved for now. Thank you. |
I have been using Smart Connections just fine for awhile, but now it is giving me an "API key is missing" error message. It didn't require an API key before. I'm not programming savvy and quite new to Obsidian and its plug-ins. Thank you.
