Refresh & Make Connections not available on newly entered note

When I create a new note, I can't immediately force Smart Connections to make connections - the command is not available in the command palette:

Only when I switch to another note and back does it show up:

This is Obsidian 1.7.7 with Smart Connections 2.3.46 on a Linux desktop.

I've got the same problem and even when the button in the command pallete it's doing nothing for newly created note

I run into this when in the side panel. When I click into the note, the commands in the pallette appear again
