(I keep getting errors, but maybe it's my fault because I didn't set it up correctly??? How can I tell??)
I left it on the taylorAI/bge-micro-v2
Going to the chat box - above the chat box there's a gear drop down where it selects "Model Platforms". What's that? Does it work with the Taylor? Or is that something else?
There's a place to get an API key? What's an API? What kind of key is it? Do I always need it?
What is a Custom vs an Open Router vs an Anthropic?
Which buttons and which "drop downs" and which etc. in various places are to be chosen first? How do you make things match?
I read something about payment. Do all of these multiple options require payment? Or only some? Where does one pay? Why? To whom?
So far I only get [mostly] errors at the chatbox. Is that because I'm not paying somebody? How can I know? I'm not likely to start paying for something if I don't even know if it will work later....
So are there non payment options to begin with? Will it work for all Obsidian users? Or perhaps only those with very powerful computers - or something else?
I looked up taylorAI/bge-micro-v2" on Google and it took me to somewhere called Hugging Face that says: "This is a [sentence-transformers] model finetuned from [TaylorAI/bge-micro-v2]. It maps sentences & paragraphs to a 384-dimensional dense vector space and can be used for semantic textual similarity, semantic search, paraphrase mining, text classification, clustering, and more."
I'm just an average Obsidian user. I have no idea what the above meant or whether I needed to know it or not.
And it still doesn't tell me if i should use the Tylor and whether it goes with an "Anthropic" or a "Custom" and whether each really has much to do with the other or when and why, and whether blocks (whatever that is) should be off - and whether I'll have to pay someone something for the chat to work.
I've used Gemini AI before online but it was free. I saw Gemini on one of the drop-down menus - but I'm not sure if that's the same thing...
