Summary

  • BSQ requested: 1403
BSQ rate for Cycle 9 is 0.67 USD per 1 BSQ

Contributions delivered

Website

  • Fix fr/dao/ button "En savoir plus": PR (212)
  • Fix es/dao/ button "Ver más": PR (212)

It's not just the number of lines changed, I checked the entire bisq website in all languages to get the error. And in the perspective of a developer if you have a button it has to work.
The buttons draw a lot of attention to the users. What expectations would be given if a simple button fails on something that claims to be so technological?.

Docs

  • Review of Bisq website translated into Spanish: PR (252 BSQ)
  • Fix typos of Bisq website translated into Spanish: PR (1 BSQ)
  • Translate to Spanish some lines in the Bisq Website: PR (8 BSQ)

Review: 4837words × 0.035/0.67 = 252.67 BSQ‬
Fix typos: 20 × 0.04/0.67 = 1.19 BSQ‬‬
Translations: 83 words × 0.07/0.67 = 8.67 BSQ‬

_ Morocotacoin the main crypto medium of Venezuela, an area that needs to be covered because they already use cryptocurrencies and mainly for remittances_

  • I translated Spanish subtitles of bisq videos (88 BSQ)
    2019-12-13_1358

Translations: 847 words × 0.07/0.67 = 88.49 BSQ‬

Videos translation

Contributions in progress

  • I am seeing with other users a strategy to implement bisq in LATAM
  • I am currently working to integrate the official telegram channel for bisq in Spanish and I am looking for places to give workshops on how to trade in bisq.

I support that request as we did not had a clear decision how to go on with expenses, but I will stop supporting any translation expenses from next cycle on as I don't see it as a high priority in times of low revenue. I hope you understand that this has nothing to do with the quality of your work but only a measurement to get the BSQ economy back on track.

I will reject this proposal. There's different work that needs to be considered apart.

Translation is great, I have not a single objection to that. It's very good work.

The article asks too much compensation considering it wasn't discussed, and it looks like a crosspost already compensated to another contributor at cycle 8. That's why asked who is Alenka Lima, the one who signs the article. Maybe you and Lorena Franco worked together in this post, but we should already know this and a single compensation should be ennough. Sorry to the rest of the DAO for not sharing this doubts earlier.

Buttons fixed on the website could be expensive as well, but I don't have a strong opinion on this, and it was something that needed to be done.

Also, I don't know why the DAO should accept now a resubmission of a CR without demanding an answer about why it was not voted and asking the same price + BSQ inflation.

The article I charged was a different one. He wrote for morocotacoin in Venezuela and I for a diariocripto in Mexico.

They are two articles that although the objective was the same, they are different.
I think it's a good job.

And there are people who are charging much more BSQ. While now I know that you learn from mistakes and many things have to change.

It is not about panicking, it is about focusing on what matters, in this case, a path is being made for the use of Bisq in LATAM. Isn't that what it is about?

@francov99 I dont know the details about the article. Yes we want to invest in growth and such activities are welcome.
For the requested amount we have to be more strict in future. I know from past contributors who have been professional journalists in the btc space that they charged about 20 USD/hour. A small article should not take more then 2-3 hours.

@MwithM
Thanks for your due dilligence!

without demanding an answer about why it was not voted

He was rejected as he did not reach the quorum which does not mean his request was bad but can mean that other contributors in that area did not exercise their management function.

As the contribution was from the time before we moved to a more strict mode I personally will support that request, but we have to make clear that from now on we apply more strict standards.

Thank you for your support and I will consider it. We have to make this cake bigger, but not eat it without even finishing cooking.

I will be very careful of what I collaborate from now on. I really like Bisq and I see it very necessary for a decentralized economy.

I think it's a good job.

Morocotacoin's piece was retweeted and It had more reactions than usual, so I agree it's a good job. They're not different. It's the same piece on two different websites. Let's see the text one next to each other:

comparación

As first time enthusiast contributors, I overlooked this and didn't want to say anything. But do you really still defend they're different articles?

Do you really think Bisq should spend almost 400 BSQ (223 for current CR and 175 for earlier) on this?

I am abstaining from voting on this proposal as I am not familiar enough with the details and am unwilling to dig into them. We will be rolling out a budget and other changes for Cycle 10 designed to keep costs under control by having conversations like the one above up front vs. late in the compensation cycle. These will be announced and explained soon.
