Something that works with both Fedora and Pop

It's a Github D/L, look at the API for the latest version
Web browser D/L is here: https://pdfsam.org/download-pdfsam-basic/

Currently they only support deb packages also there is a zip file that gives you a java jar to run on your own. Either we need to use Alien or just manually extract this. Can't find a snap or Ansible galaxy role for this either.

Final goals are:

  • ID Latest version to download
  • Binary Installation
  • Availability in app menu of KDE and Gnome
  • Works on Fedora and Pop

Getting the version is like the argocd role but uses this URL https://api.github.com/repos/torakiki/pdfsam/releases/latest

To get the shortcut in the app menu, they are in /usr/share/applications/ each shortcut has a .desktop file, look at some on your system for examples
