My apologies if this is the wrong place to post, but I came over here from a hackster.io post about setting up a 340u beam on raspberry pi. Hackster is not letting me register (is popping up an error trying to send the confirmation email) to post a comment on that post.
I've been trying to get the 340u to work on a raspberry pi going on two years when I came on your post. I've been using similar configuration so I tried your steps exactly in case anything differed. This time around I actually got an address and the device said connected. (more than I had ever gotten before on RPi) but the ping doesn't work. Nothing happens. I tried traceroute also and it doesn't even make it to the next hop.
These steps all work just fine on my ubuntu laptop, but I can't seem to get a connection to work on a raspberry pi running the latest raspbian. I've tried it on 4 different pis (2a+, 3b+, pi zero, pi zero w) - same results on all three. I was wondering if you had any suggestions as this is the 7th device I have tried to get cellular internet on a pi in the past 5 years. I'm pulling my hair out.
