Update citation request to include zenodo DOI #291
Comments
Many people still cite the first paper only, so wishing them cite the zenodo DOI of the version of the code they are using is a very ambitious thought. |
I was just looking for this actually as we are writing the sunpy v1.0 paper and wanted to cite the specific version of astropy that we are using which is 3.1. Unfortunately it looks like the Zenodo DOIs stop at 3.0.5 though v3.2 is out. Are you no longer using Zenodo to get DOIs or has that process stopped? @bsipocz @kelle? |
The process is not yet automated, and not yet incorporated in the release procedure. We're just behind things sometimes. |
@bsipocz are there any plans to add major releases like 3.2 and 3.1? I'd love to be able to appropriately reference that version in the SunPy paper. Thanks. |
Sure, what's your submission timeline? |
Before the end of August. |
ok, I try to get to the uploads then soon, but not right now :) |
Daina said citing the paper is insufficient. We also need people to cite the actual code using the Zenodo DOI.
