maybe a dumb question but the app doesn't let me to configure it

i don't find any way to configure it with magic mouse 2 it semply does nothing besides open link in backgroud

how do i set the middle click to do something else ?
none of the 3rd party apps i tried recognizes it

You don't. This app makes it possible to middle click, and that's it. If the other app you're trying to use it with does not listen for middle clicks at all — then the middle click does nothing. You probably can find or make another app that reacts to middle clicks and does something else

The answer above by @artginzburg to @Alessandro15204 -the OP-'s question is obviously correct.

However for anyone else reading this, there are a few options that can be configured in this app "MiddleClick" - though none of them will do what the OP wanted. You can read how to change the options that do exist in the ReadMe - scroll below the main list of files in the first page "Code" of this project.
