Can phantomJS retrieving cookies from document.cookie DOM function ?

I'm working on some QUnit test cases for a framework using chutzpah as my runner. One of my tests are failing since it's not able to retrieve cookies from document.cookie function. It just returns "" as the result.

Doesn't phantomJS support document.cookie function? is there any other way to do it?
