Unable to unformat text #20

Hi, thanks for the great extension! However I'm still experiencing the same issue that was mentioned in #2 about not being able to unformat text unless you select some text next to it.

I am using Chrome Version 56.0.2924.87 on Mac OS X 10.11.6. This also happens in the demo page:
