Replicated Ship

GitHub App

Replicated Ship enables Kubernetes cluster operators to create production grade deployments of open source and commercially supported applications, components, agents and charts (3rd-party software).

Automated Pull Requests from upstream updates

When a 3rd-party application, agent, chart etc is configured through Ship, this GitHub application will continuously watch the upstream repo (or endpoint) for any updates. When an update is detected, Ship will download the latest version, apply all custom configurations as patches (via Kustomize) and then make an automated Pull Request into your repo with the latest version.

The Ship workflow:

Through this workflow, Replicated Ship ensures that cluster operators will never need to fork another Helm chart or Kubernetes YAML in order to extend the upstream version with their own custom configuration. Instead, Ship leverages the patch & overlay patterns introduced by Kustomize and soon to be native to kubectl.
Replicated Ship Modes

No forks == no toil

By removing the need for forking, Ship is able to increase the amount of automation around 3rd-party application management to greatly reduce the toil required to customize and maintain these applications.
