Search for QTEST_SET_MAIN_SOURCE_PATH to find hints and relevant code.

See code in claremacrae/supercollider/testsuite/editors/sc-ide/qttest_sc-ide_tests/ for how I was able to do this in a different project - the ingredients are all there.
