I'm a VS Codium user, a FLOSS version of VS Code, it's the same code but without the Microsoft's telemetry and branding.
I want to request if possible to add the Apollo GraphQL extension on the open-vsx.org market to us doesn't need to works with the Microsoft marketplace as is unclear if it's legal to use it on VS Code forks, see here.

Additional info:

  • This is how to publish a new extension.

Friendly ping @hwillson @designatednerd @trevor-scheer 😇 🙏

Notes:

  • Publishing vscode-apollo to OpenVSX will allow users of non-Microsoft editors like VSCodium, Gitpod.io, Theia, etc. to get your awesome Apollo GraphQL VSCode extension

  • Publishing is as easy as running a single command: npx ovsx publish -- no dependencies required, just a OVSX_PAT token

Let me know if I can help!

It seems anyone can publish it and after, when the Apollo team want, they can claim the namespace. If I understand this correctly.

I guess this can be closed. I've opened #2204 about claiming the namespace and further information.
