Commit strategy

Hi!

I like the app but I am looking for a way to handle the commit strategy and I don't see where it is. Are there any plan to add a way to select which commit strategy is applied in an SQL console ()? And also commit/rollback buttons?

Hi Gaël!

Unfortunately, queries performed manually by the user do not currently support transactions.
However I agree with you that it could be a very useful feature in some circumstances. I'm definitely going to start evaluating its implementation.
For example, a checkbox added next to the tab's schema selection to activate transaction mode and the run/cancel button would become commit/rollback.

Let me know how you imagine this feature implementation in the app UI.

I would have a drop-down containing the strategy to choose:
[ ] Auto-commit
[ ] Manual commit

And just next to it, two buttons: [ Commit ] and [Rollback ]. I think that what those buttons do is kind of obvious. In case the Auto-commit strategy is chosen from the drop-down, those buttons would be greyed, they would be clickable for Manual commit.

I never user auto-commit while on a production server... I am kind of afraid to perform an action without doing some validation queries before "committing to commit", it could have disastrous effects on the end user.

Definitely an interesting and useful feature, which however needs some time because at the moment Antares uses a small pool of connections, so not always a group of queries are performed by the same process.
However, the implementation of this feature would open up to new usage scenarios, so I will evaluate its implementation in the near future.
