In #1644, we identified some required FieldData/Info methods:

  • data_valid
  • create_surface_on_server
  • get_field_unit
  • get_vector_fields
    and/or whatever is needed to eliminate the scheme-eval calls.

@hpohekar @prmukherj It would be interesting to see what is the status of this; i.e. are we still using Scheme for all these things?
