Export symbol artboards?

I noticed recently that if I make my artboards symbols, the plug-in no longer see's them as artboards and is unable to export them. (Sketch allows artboards to be symbols and still retain artboard functionality.) Curious if there is a way to build in that capability as I do tend to turn my artboards into symbols a lot.

UPDATE
As of 1/3/17 - Plugin is back working correctly.

I've been using this plugin for four months to export my Artboards that were converted to symbols. As of 1/1/18 I'm now having the same problem that @proxemics is having (not being able to export my symbol artboards to PDF). I recently updated to Sketch 48.2.

If I'm reading this correctly, the recent release of Sketch 48.2 has fixed this issue?

It's actually being a bit spotty. I have to shutdown Sketch a few time before it will work. As of right now it's stopped working again. When i try to export to pdf it get a 896 byte blank one page pdf.
