I want to learn more about using github for python

Cool! If you're already coding, you're probably ready to try a git GUI or the git command line tool and start using version control on your own projects. I link to some resources in the README for learning git. There's no real difference between using git for python vs any other programming language vs plain text. As far as git is concerned, the code is just a bunch of files.
