What

A currency conversion pattern, utilising the existing conditional radio button component(s).

Why

The previous iteration of this screen asked users to convert their currency (euros) into pounds by linking to an external site. Users found this a painful step in the journey and there were several accessibility issues with the external site.

Since designing this currency converter within the service, user feedback has been positive and pain-free in completing the journey.

Other feedback on this design included positive feedback from a design crit we hosted with the Borders & Trade community, with recommendation(s) from Senior Interaction Designers to consider proposing this design as a pattern, with further suggestions to tell users on 'Your amount in euros' screen:

• the exchange rate being used
• where the exchange rate is taken from
