The latest 1.6.8 version does not seem to function properly.
My setup:
MacBook Pro Retina Mid 2015
macOS Catalina 10.15.4
Using in conjunction with iTunes
It breaks normal system volume change.
When trying to change the volume with the volume buttons, it only increments the system volume in half steps, and does not play the pop-sound-test sound that it usually plays. (I have "Play feedback when volume is changed" enabled in system settings). Also holding down SHIFT+CTRL when changing the volume normally changes it in 1/4 steps, but this does not work either. Quitting the application fixes the problem.
It does not change the volume of iTunes.
The latest version when running only seems to semi-break system volume control (see point 1) without changing the iTunes volume as it normally would when holding down the CMD button.
Tried mitigation:
I have tried quitting and starting the application, restarting the machine, but nothing seems to help. Reverting back to 1.6.7 works just fine. Have tried installing this twice, once when the update was launched and once more today, but bot times I needed to revert back to 1.6.7 to fix the issues.
