As described in the https://github.com/adobe/helix-pages#publishing instructions, for this project to work, the VCL must be extended / patched. For now it is a manual process.

With adobe/helix-cli#812, we'll get an extension point and the custom VCL could be hosted inside the project.

Publish must be ran now with: hlx publish --custom-vcl='vcl/extensions.vcl'
