I was attempting to use the acme.sh package within pfSense, and every time I tested the renew button the script would fail and give me a log entry that read "acme.sh not found". After a bunch of testing it started to work. The only thing I had changed is that I had added a dummy DNS txt entry. So to me it seems like the script only works if you have an existing dns entry.
