It would be nice to have syntax highlighting and indentation, and maybe integration with the compiler in Emacs (for those who like that editor). There is an initial attempt here https://github.com/accordproject/ergo-mode

Help on that from some elisp expert would be much appreciated.

Any emacs lisp expt help would be greatly appreciated. The latest code is in:
https://github.com/accordproject/ergo/tree/master/ergo.emacs

But it's possible that a rewrite from scratch (or based on another emacs mode than the original go mode used for that experiment) would be better.

It would be useful if the mode would also handle templates using the new syntax in accordproject/template-archive#392
