Hi
The image I add to the rooms can be seen by public(without authentication) when the link to the image is copied and pasted in the browser.

Is this default behavior? If yes how can I restrict the image to encrypted for the public?

Yes it's by default at my knowledges. Maybe you could try to enable the encryption in the chattrom, I don't know it change something.

I don't know if it's possible. And if yes I don't know how to do it.

I think if you want to know any more info about that you could speak directly with the developer (on the #synapse:matrix.org chattrom of by creating an issue in the main synapse project).

In any case if you get any more information about that it could be interesting to know.

The matrix team replied the same thing "Use the encryption keys".
Here is the issue: https://github.com/matrix-org/matrix-doc/issues/701
And riot can sync the keys on devices. Here is the pic from there room which is public too. 😛

Even the copies of these pics go to all members of the room and admins where the user are hosted can see them too. So if one of them get compromised you may lose your stuff.
So the end-to-end encryption is must.
