What happens when the bug or crash occurs?

At random points multiple minutes into VCs, the VC audio specifically will entirely disconnect. All other Discord related audio will remain. Only after leaving and rejoining the VC will audio return. Icons also do not update, as if Discord silently stopped receiving audio.

This tends to happen randomly when not interacting with the client, but most recently happened when a video booted up

What is the expected behaviour?

I expect Discord to stay connected to the VC.

How do you recreate this bug or crash?

Stay in VC and wait.

Debug Logs

[3:1003/180424.479372:ERROR:bus.cc(407)] Failed to connect to the bus: Failed to connect to socket /run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory

Only potentially related line; copypaste from foot isn't working for me at present so I don't have more. Seems to be triggering at random, but was sent five times at once when the incident most recently happened. May instead be related to the embed I opened instead of the issue at hand, though likely not the case.

Request Agreement

  • I have searched the existing issues and found no similar issue
  • I am using the latest Vesktop and Vencord versions
  • This issue occurs on an official release (not just the AUR or Nix packages)

A couple of my friends on the official discord app also get this problem, so it could be a Discord-related issue.

This is still an issue. It does not happen when I access Discord in Firefox, so I feel like this is something that can be repaired on the end of my Vesktop setup.

I dont know if my issue is the same as yours, but i run Vesktop on a linux machine that i screenshare a plex stream almost all the time, usually playing anime/shows with my friends and its on my htpc in my room and i watch it too from other rooms via my other discord client.. well atleast once or twice daily audio just stops streaming, i can still hear it from the TV the htpc is on so audio is still playing from plex through speakers but vesktop stops catching it for some reason, i can fix it by either restarting the stream, or hitting Change Windows and picking my entire system sounds and then it starts working again, but it stops at random times, sometimes not at all for a whole day but sometimes 3-4 times in a day, its strange and i cannot pinpoint the problem, i've tried both arch and pop os, building from source and appimage and deb on pop os, not sure what else to try but any suggestions would be awesome i absolutely love vesktop and if i could fix that i'd be extremely happy!
