Can someone please describe (in detail) how to install the client on a MacOS device without having to lower the gatekeeper or to not have it prompt the end user if it wants to run this application?
Or apply an Apple Developer cert to the darwin installer?
Personally I think the creator should obtain an Apple Developer Cert for this application so that it will allow for mass distribution and upgrades to deploy this application.
Our initial deployment via jamf allowed us to lower the gatekeeper and run the install without any user intervention (approx 600 devices) and then we had a extention attribute to check to see if it was installed and running and if it was , it would raise the gatekeeper back up, but sometimes users would still get prompted to allow it to run. and not all of our users read emails about this application being deployed.
Now we are being asked to upgrade the client, which we will have to lower the gatekeeper again which i dont like doing and makes it harder to automate and identify which ones have been upgraded.
Having this apple developer certificate would greatly allow for ease of installation and deployment for Admins. Thanks!
