Hi,

I downloaded the steam client for Linux today and re-deemed various Humble Indie Bundle steam keys.

Shank 2 installed despite being reported as non-compatible for Linux.

The Shank 2 directory was full of windows binaries/DLLs.

Possibly related to #16 (which I also experienced).

This is neither an issue nor a bug.

Steam on Linux has a section for Linux games. But it can also install non-Linux games through Steam.

Because when you activated it and selected "Next" after activation, the wizard was continuing to install it, and since the only method of doing so is by installing the windows binaries, that is what it did.

So really it's a feature that you were unaware of, and perhaps confused by the outcome. I agree that the activation process should be a bit better. It's kind of confusing if you can exit out of the wizard or not, I just wanted to activate things, not install them, and Cancel gives me the impression it will stop activating :)

I redeemed keys for 32 games, 10 of which are supported by Linux and Shank 2 was the only game which installed but was not supported.

Some games may support linux, but not yet through steam. This may change now that steam has left beta and the devs have a big enough base to update their installations

This is a issue.

Actual results: Activate all humble bundle 7 steam keys on linux, shank 2 is the only one that is not on the platform yet continues to download.

Expected results: Activate game, click next, if game is not available for the platform you are on it will NOT download the game.

yes, sounds like a sane solution (re: expected results).

@sreich This is definitely an issue since when trying to install a windows game through the library, an error message pops up informing the user that the game is not available for the current platform. If nothing else, this inconsistency is a problem.

This is related to configuration issues with the Steam store. This issue will be tracked using #16.
