This is basically FYI:
Today (12th Dec. 2024) I had Codium updated and this is what it reported during the update.
Unpacking codium (1.96.0.24347) over (1.95.3.24321) ...
Error in file "/usr/share/applications/xreader.desktop": "application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" is an invalid MIME type ("application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" contains an invalid character in the subtype)
Error in file "/usr/share/applications/xreader.desktop": "application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" is an invalid MIME type ("application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" contains an invalid character in the subtype)
Setting up codium (1.96.0.24347) ...
Error in file "/usr/share/applications/xreader.desktop": "application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" is an invalid MIME type ("application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" contains an invalid character in the subtype)
Even so, the setup continued and finished without any errors. Codium runs just fine after the update.
The OS is Linux Mint 21 Vanessa.
I noticed you had a similar issue in 2021, so I thought you would like to know about it.

18th December 2024 update:
Again, this is FYI. As before the OS is Linux Mint 21 Vanessa.
While installing (1.96.0.24352) over (1.96.0.24347) the output is the following:
Preparing to unpack .../codium_1.96.0.24352_amd64.deb ...
Unpacking codium (1.96.0.24352) over (1.96.0.24347) ...

Error in file "/usr/share/applications/xreader.desktop": "application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" is an invalid MIME type ("application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" contains an invalid character in the subtype)
Setting up codium (1.96.0.24352) ...
Error in file "/usr/share/applications/xreader.desktop": "application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" is an invalid MIME type ("application/x-ext-cbzapplication/oxps" contains an invalid character in the subtype)
Processing triggers for desktop-file-utils (0.26+mint1+vanessa) ...
Processing triggers for gnome-menus (3.36.0-1ubuntu3) ...
Processing triggers for shared-mime-info (2.1-2) ...
.. etc.
As an aside, compared to other programs, the installation of Codium takes quite a long time. Perhaps this is due to the above error messages, as, after outputting one of the above errors, it takes quite some time to advance to the next step. When it gets to the "Processing triggers..." parts, the installation proceeds quite quickly.
As before, the above "errors" do not seem to affect Codium itself, as, after the installation, Codium runs just fine.
