In Zino 1.0 the BGP state monitor task only runs every other/third time the status check is run.

It has to be observed first if that is also necessary in Zino 2.0.

We discussed this in a meeting this monday, and this is definitely not post-2.0. We are already having performance issues with Zino 2.0 thanks to PySNMP, and reducing extraneous SNMP requests by using the same methods as Zino 1 is definitely on the table.
