Function to read ISD files

Hello
I would like to know if there is any function to read files from the Integrated Surface Database (ISD). If not, then it would be a gentle request from my side to have a function that can read data from the ISD, as a part of the siphon library.

Accessing the collection, if possible, would make sense in Siphon. Depending on the complexity of parsing the data, I could see that being here or in MetPy.
