Exchange Channel is currently defined as “means of exchanging information” at an abstract level. This does not seem suitable to describe an Exchange Channel instance used for collection and dissemination. For example, in sub-process 4.2 (Set up collection), we would need collection instruments or a concrete representation of Exchange Channel, not the abstract object. Similarly, GSIM lacks an object that describes “workflow” that is needed in the later sub-processes of GSBPM Phase 3 (e.g., sub-process 3.4 (Configure workflow)). Business Process might be used for this, but it is too abstract to describe the concept of “configured” and ready-to-use workflow.
