Grades Topic #92
Comments
Grades before and after pages are in. Still working on examples. |
That’s fine but let’s not start using the editorial content for the specimens, “Johannes Gutenberg’s work on the printing press began in approximately 1436 when he partnered with Andreas Heilmann, owner of a paper mill.” Should be fine?
Thanks.

Grade circle demo is in https://variablefonts.typenetwork.com/examples/grades/grade-circle needs a little work at smaller screen sizes |
Now the circle demo shrinks on smaller screens. I thought about trying to automate the circle generation when the text re-flows, but that's a lot of math and it's pretty involved to calculate individual letter positions with javascript. Not worth taking the time right now. So this is just a fixed-typeset sample as in the original sketch. I think the whole Grade section is ready for review by @dberlow. |
Oh, the light rendering caption got truncated in the RTF, needs an update. |
We need to change the starting wight of thanks. |
I tried "grey" for the color here: https://variablefonts.typenetwork.com/examples/grades/light-rendering ...and i think that'll be a more effective start point for the demo using the same grade change as current demo. |
Dark mode lighter weight and heavier grade are in. |
Gray is in. |
I know this is off-topic slightly but could we get a different grade for the selected section you’re in showing up in the side menu. For example in the enclosed variable families would be bolder grade?

So for example, all this would get heavier if you're looking at any of these pages?

Oops, Momemtum doesn't have as Grade axis. I've upped the weight from 400 to 500 for now. |
Enclosed Rich Text and pdf contain complete Editorial, specimens and example for the topic.
