Where did the configuration import go? #112
Comments
Hi, I haven't migrated that feature across to the new build yet. How many tunnels do you have? I would suggest keeping the old version for a few more days, and the next build will auto update and auto migrate your old tunnel configs. I've already built that functionality and it'll go out in the next release. |
@K14Mua I've uploaded v1.0.1 which includes a function to automatically import your tunnel configs from previous versions. |
wait so, is import still planned right? i don't think it should be closed for now |
It is planned most likely for next release. Can you let me know how you're using the import feature? Are you downloading Wireguard configs from a privacy VPN service and importing them? I'm just surprised that a few people have requested it as such a high priority. |
yeah im trying to import from mullvad site 🤔 (additional request but it would be nice to be able to import from zip like wireguard android app) |
Okay, I haven't used Mullvad. Did you have them imported in the previous version? They should have migrated across. Or do you regularly need to import updated Mullvad configs? I'm guessing the Mullvad windows client not provide a split tunneling feature? |
I have software for generating WARP configs with free keys. And everywhere, on a PC in WireGuard, on a smartphone in WireGuard, even on a router with WireGuard, I can import *.conf files without any problems. And only here you need to retype everything manually... |
How does this work? Do you mean the CloudFlare WARP service? |
No idea how it works. I run the .bat file, a console opens with the text
Then I just follow the instructions on the screen and get a ready-made .conf file that fits any WireGuard application... |
@aeongdesu @K14Mua I've added the import feature back into the latest version: https://github.com/TunnlTo/desktop-app/releases/tag/v1.0.2 Multi-file imports adds a bit of complexity so I will look into that in a future release. |
Previously, I used an outdated version of the program with a much simpler interface. There were no application settings, just a white window and a configuration selection menu in the center with buttons to activate and change.
This version had a button to import configuration from *.conf
Damn I was tempted to update the application, the interface changed and the import button disappeared. Now I have to enter everything manually?
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
