Appended Text does not show all styles in spans

Hello, I noticed that when I use a Text and append text with a different style, it does not show me all the styles used under spans. Example code:

from rich.text import Text
from rich import print

text = Text("Hello", style="yellow")
text.append(" world", style="green")

print(text)
print(text.spans)

In the console, the text is rendered correctly. But when looking at text.spans it only shows me the last style used:

As you can see, the style of "Hello" is not included. Is there any other place I should be looking for complete style data? I will need this for test coverage.

I figured out that the original style just goes to the style attribute and I can do something like this if I want all styles to be in spans:

text = Text()
text.append("Hello", style="yellow")
text.append(" world", style="green")
