Teiid Designer supports modelling Enterprise datatype schemas and modeling column types with their custom types.

-vdb.xml DDL does not yet support the concept of custom types. We'd need a metamodel and framework to define, edit, import/export a Teiid Datatype Extension file?

This will need to planned and designed in conjunction with Teiid runtime effort: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIID-3624
