  • I carefully read the contribution guidelines and agree to them.
  • I checked if the issue/feature exists in the latest version.

Seeing that videos and channels often get removed that haven't entered Archive.org, it would be good to have a script that can be enabled that automatically triggers archiving of both the video page as well as the embed on Archive.org to avoid losing access to as many videos as possible.

What would be necessary to do something like that?

I think that could be useful to circumvent censorship. But it's also kind of dangerous, because many videos get banned for good reasons (hate speech, heavy violence, copyright etc.).

I think you have a good point, but this should not need to be our concern. If archive.org is storing information the should moderate it, however we may want to cooperate with them.

you could also consider this feature request to filter inappropriate content #1243

I think this issue is out of scope.
NewPipe is a stream/media-player and not a archiving script...

There are also - as mentioned above - good reasons for not doing that (videos don't get removed for fun).
Note that NewPipe is already bypassing blocks that affect certain areas or content by allowing e.g. choosing the content country 😉

I'm closing this issue for now, as there is no activity since >2years (no upvotes, mentions, comments).
