So that if the upload is taking longer than a few seconds to process, the user can see a message to come back later when it's all done.

@g105b could you add an update here please. Something about how you've broken down the upload processing, what order it is done in, any troubleshooting or optimisation required?

It would be great to see a full list of what's going on behind the scenes, grouped by what the user sees while it is going on.
