Hi everyone, it's that time again for newsletter updates. I'm getting this started late, sorry -- we like to get this out before JSM (8/3-8/7) and ideally next week.

To update your portion, you can either commit the changes yourself or just send me the text you want in email or Slack. I'll give us all a deadline of July 26.

Acceptance criteria: The task is done when all members of the faculty have a short update in sds_newsletter_2024.qmd.
