Add the ability to have a filter for "In stock : Yes/No" in catalog layered navigation and catalog search.

As explained in my response to PR #133, this will come as a separate module which will handle advanced inventory through ElasticSuite.

The PR code is correct but we will take a different way to implement it, because we want to add much more features at the same time to avoid this to be redesigned into the future.

Would like to see what makes this work with 2.8 branch as i'm moving off 2.4 to 2.8 it doesn't add filter by observer any more!

Yep, there is a "In stock" and a "Discounted" filter.
