I'm using a small plugin to call this one, and I'd like to have the option to not add new sessions except when I call save_current_session on my own initiative, but at the same time not prevent updates to already saved sessions.

I implemented a simple configurable option and started a PR, you can accept it or implement a better one (maybe?
