Open multiple links at once with the "link to new tab" action #298
Comments
This feature sounds very similar to "Keypress Gestures" #47 or is there a difference? |
Well, it's similar, but you didn't have to hold a button for that to work - Just do the gesture. Not having to aim to start the gesture at link really helps. |
Then how do I distinguish the gesture from other gestures if you can move your mouse in any direction? |
The gesture is defined in settings just like all others. I don't move in any direction. |
I have to admit that I prefer the other approach, because it allows more flexibility. Although it has its own drawback, because it requires an extra key press. |
Those are not approaches to the same thing and are not mutually exclusive. What I'm asking for in this issue is a modification to the "open in background tab" gesture, making it possible to use it to open a link without having to start it on the link. |
I just started to use Gesturefy today. Have been using All-in-one gestures for many years and this was one of a handful gestures I used every day. I had the "Open links in tabs"-gestures defined as D-L-U-R, so if I started the gesture at the top of a list of search result then hovered the mouse over the list items to the bottom then just did the L-U-R-twist at the end I got all results in tabs. Sooo convenient and I would be sooo greatful if this could be added to gesturefy as well. By the way, thanks for an excellent product. |
All-in-one gestures plugin, which is of course, unavailable now thanks to Firefox devs, had a very useful behavior for open link in background gesture: you could start dragging anywhere on the page, and if when dragging you passed though a link (not necessarily started on it), that link would be opened when the gesture is finished. Please add this kind of functionality to Gesturefy.
