Qubes OS release

4.2.0

Brief summary

qubes-update-gui will hang if Dom0 update fails. Will fail to report guidance from qubes-dom0-update. In this instance, update was failing due to 'needs 2MB more space on the /boot/efi filesystem'

Steps to reproduce

Attempt update of dom0 using gui, on a system with 96mb EFI partition.

Expected behavior

  • gui reports guidance from qubes-dom0-update instead of hanging.
  • show additional information on how to troubleshoot the problem like, check your EFI partition size using
    df -h | grep /boot/efi "Here are the steps to correct the problem: ... " Or here is a link to the problem solution.

Actual behavior

Gui just hangs, with no output or indication of what is occurring.
