How to file a helpful issue

The problem you're addressing (if any)

the fact that a freshly deployed Fedora template has a menu entry for GNOME software but that it's actually broken because of #3815 make it confusing for users

The solution you'd like

don't add "software" menu icon

The value to a user, and who that user might be

if it's there, users would expect GNOME Software to work, but it's not working, making them confusing, thinking that their template / Qubes OS install is broken and quit Qubes OS.

GNOME Software is only included in GNOME templates, which aren’t installed by default in R4.2 and up. That said, GNOME templates should still omit GNOME Software unless GNOME Software actually works.

GNOME Software is only included in GNOME templates

I updated the title to reflect this 👍

unless GNOME Software actually works

it doesn't, I guess it requires network in the template

I can see arguments both for and against this being a duplicate of #6310, especially since #3815 was closed in favor of #6310. Basically, #6310 is saying "make it work," while this is saying "remove it." I suppose they could be compatible: "Make it work, but remove the icon until then."
