How to file a helpful issue

Qubes OS release

4.1.1

Brief summary

  • Create a VM (in my case i used HVM + MintOS)
  • Try to make it full in storage (to easy reproduce: use the default Qubes storage for new VM which is 10GB, then download anything inside Mintos-VM which can exceed the available storage whether in user or root)
  • Notification will popup in Qubes taskbar saying that the Mint(VM) root is full (or nearly full), which a good thing. (check the uploaded image)
  • Fix the issue by delete/clean what you have downloaded in the VM to reback the VM storage to normal state.
  • Qubes seems wont recognize what happened within the VM (from cleaning storage) so that it will turn off the notification (otherwise its a false positive).

The Proper fix will be (to remove the notification):

  • Shutdown the VM -> increase the storage of the VM from Qube Manager -> then open it again.

Expected behavior

Since Qubes notified about a VM storage going to be nearly full while its running, its preferable/more smart to notify if the storage of the VM been fixed while it is as well still running.
