Turn restrictions via ways

I know OSRM takes into account turn restriction based on the common node restrictions but it doesn't seem to take into account turn restrictions that have a way as the via? Is this possible?

You might ask when this would be used and to my knowledge it is when there are large road divide (e.g. a large median strip). Here is some detail I found in OSM help centre regarding it.
