Note that the season also would have started 8 days earlier if we used the paper date.

Also, this would essentially be reverting the decision last rotation to move a week forward, and would probably lead to supplemental being required again.

The only practical question is "Wednesday or Friday", and I think Wednesday would confuse 90% of players, as they aren't intimately aware of MTGO deployments.
